Blogs. You probably have a couple favorite ones you follow. For me, The Good Men Project, Golf Science Lab, and The Broke Backpacker are bookmarked on my toolbar as favorites. These blogs keep me abreast of happenings in the world and even provide inspiration.

While I’ve always been a fan of reading blogs for pleasure, I’ve come to realize just how valuable they are for my clients who own small businesses and have websites. It seems that business owners are quick to acknowledge the need for a blog on their website. However, all too few actually have the time to keep them updated. That’s where I come in!

As a freelancer, I’m always worried about where checks are coming from. Hoping that clients pay on time and want my services for the next 30 days… Collectively, we exist on the edge of perceived brilliance (especially us writers in our own heads), and the edge of WTF happened to that contract. Fall is my favorite time of year. I don’t know if it’s the crisp mornings or lingering days of Indian summer. I always seem to slow down in the fall. In a good way. Summer flies by. The river floats, BBQ’s, camping trips and other fun times seem to all blend together. One minute it’s 4th of July and the next, Labor Day has passed me by.
